Drowning Man is a song by Irish rock band U2. It is the fifth track from their 1983 album War. The title of the song does not appear within the lyrics.[1] Bono has creatively referenced drowning within his lyrics on repeat occasions, in songs such as Treasure (Whatever Happened To Pete The Chop), Indian Summer Sky, When Love Comes to Town, and multiple songs from Achtung Baby.[2] Guest musician Steve Wickham plays the violin for the recording. U2 has never performed the song live.[3]
