Dryad is a German stoner rock band from Würzburg, Bavaria, formed in 2016. It is composed of bassist and vocalist Michael Rudolf, guitarist Alexander Atzinger, and drummer Sebastian Spahn.
History[edit]
The heavy stoner rock trio Dryad was founded in Würzburg in 2016. The band's name is based on the legendary forest nymphs (dryads) of Greek mythology — a fusion of mankind and nature. In the spirit of this close entanglement, guitarist Alex, drummer Sebastian, and vocalist/bassist Michael combine their musical skills with well thought-out lyrics and create a mystical atmosphere that is shaped by the influences of Kyuss, Elder, Black Sabbath and MC5. Heavy stoner riffs are tightly interwoven with emotional melodies. Psychedelic sounds are pulling the listener into gloomy worlds and the human-critical lyrics are thought-provoking.[1][2]
On January 5, 2018, Dryad came up with their first release Rehearsal Tape. The five songs of this diy-record opened up a first idea of their musical doing and is still available as name-your-price-item via Bandcamp. The Reheasal Tape was mastered by Julian Rocco Lepore.[3][4]
