The Dublin Shamrocks are a hypothetical professional American football team based in Dublin, Ireland. The Dublin Shamrocks are featured on the social media platform YouTube and are played by YouTuber RBT. The Shamrocks compete in the National Football League. The team was founded on April 1, 2019, after a bankruptcy forced their previous team, the Jacksonville Jaguars, to relocate to Dublin, Ireland.
Franchise History
The team was founded on April 1, 2019, after a bankruptcy forced their previous team, the Jacksonville Jaguars, to relocate to Dublin, Ireland.
A controversy arose as the National Football League Players Association was concerned about the Jacksonville Jaguars' players and players from the 2019 NFL Draft not being able to move to Dublin with so little time to prepare. The National Football League Players Association decided not to let the Dublin Shamrocks make a selection in the 2019 NFL Draft and let any current player of the Dublin Shamrocks opt out of their contract with the team. This resulted in all 53 players on the team opting out of their respective contracts. This forced the Dublin Shamrocks to seek players in free agency and they struggled to fill their 53-man roster up until the 2019 NFL preseason. The 53 players who ended up signing with the Dublin Shamrocks came to be nicknamed "The Rejects". The Dublin Shamrocks play their home games in Shamrock Stadium. The Dublin Shamrocks won their first game in franchise history on October 6, 2019, in a game against the Tennessee Titans in Nashville, Tennessee, where they won 20–17.
