Duchess Anastasia Alexandrine Cecile Marie Luise Wilhelmine of Mecklenburg-Schwerin[1] (Full German name: Anastasia Alexandrine Cecile Marie Luise Wilhelmine Herzogin zu Mecklenburg-Schwerin[1]), (11 November 1923, Gelbensande, Free State of Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Weimar Republic[1] – 25 January 1979, Hamburg, West Germany[1]). Anastasia was the youngest child and youngest daughter of Frederick Francis IV, Grand Duke of Mecklenburg-Schwerin and his wife Princess Alexandra of Hanover and Cumberland.

Marriage and issue[edit]

Anastasia married Prince Friedrich Ferdinand of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg, youngest son of Prince Albrecht of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg and his wife Countess Ortrud of Ysenburg and Büdingen, on 1 September 1943 at Willigrad bei Schwerin.[1] Friedrich Ferdinand and Anastasia had four daughters:[1]

  • Princess Elisabeth Marie Alexandra of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg (10 September 1945)[1] she married Prince Ferdinand Heinrich of Isenburg-Budingen-Wachtersbach on 2 January 1975. They have two sons:
    • Prince Johann Georg Friedrich August of Isenburg-Budingen-Wachtersbach (8 July 1976) he married Stefanie Bittner on 4 June 2010. They have one daughter:
      • Princess Anna Carolina Elisabeth Johanna Marie of Isenburg-Budingen-Wachtersbach (8 January 2012)
    • Prince Ludwig Ferdinand Wittekind Heinrich of Isenburg-Budingen-Wachtersbach (6 February 1979) he married Chantal Toelle on 2 October 2010. They have two children together:
      • Prince Paul Heinrich Marius of Isenburg-Budingen-Wachtersbach (19 December 2011)
      • Princess Gisele Johanna Eleonore of Isenburg-Budingen-Wachtersbach (2 August 2014)
  • Princess Irene Olga Adelheid of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg (born 11 October 1946) [1]
  • Princess Margaretha Friederike Luise of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg (born 10 February 1948)[1]
