Duke the Dog, 7-years-old Great Pyrenees won the mayor elections of small Northwestern Minnesota township Cormorant.Post of the mayor in this small town is a simple honor. As for the mayor salary, a pet food store is donating a year’s supply of kibble to reward him for his service. Duke the Dog win elections with 75% vote against the second candidate - Richard Sherbrook, who is owner of a local store.
Cormorant mayor elections take place annual, and every must pay registration fee $1 to cast a vote. Usually it funds spending for charities.
After winning the election, the newly elected Mayor passed the inauguration process. Preparatory to inauguration process included a visit to the "beauty salon" for comb of his wool. In addition a suit, including a jacket, tie and hat-cylinder was bout for his inauguration ; also a local pet food store is donating him year’s supply of kibble to reward him for his service.
