Dukula Jayasinghe was born in Homagama, Colombo, Sri Lanka on 13 January 2000. He is best known for stage drama acting, Public Speaking and has participated in many competitions during his school life. He had been nominated for many awards and had won including awards for Arts, national public speaking and announcing competitions as well as in drama.
Early life
Dukula Jayasinghe is the second child in the family and has two sisters. His family is mainly associated in the business field. He started schooling at Royal Institute Nugegoda whilst later changed back to Lyceum International School, Nugegoda, where he studied until his GCSE Ordinary Levels. He is currently studying his advanced levels at Royal Institute, Havelock Road. He was the deputy house captain at Lyceum International School, Nugegoda and also was a school prefect. [1]
Career
Dukula participated in almost all school competitions mainly including competitions in public speaking, singing and drama. In 2009, he participated in Global Arts Competition 2009 where he won first place in the 5th standard. Later, in the year 2013, he participated in the All island Sinhala best speakers competition 2013 but however did not pass beyond district level where he was eliminated from the competition. In 2014, he again participated in the same competition, and reached national level where he achieved the 2nd runner up award. After he switched schools for his Advanced Levels, before entering the new school in 2016, he participated in an All island drama competition where he was nominated for best actor.
