Production[edit]

Development[edit]

On May 16, 2022, Warner Bros. Pictures, Metro Trains announced that the film would be in production, to celebrate the game's 10th anniversary. The film took a total of 26 months to develop.

Animation[edit]

It was originally rumored to be a live-action/computer-animated hybrid feature. Animated in Animal Logic with computer animated characters, the animation was done by Animal Logic in Australia, while post-production (including the CGI backgrounds) and stereoscopic 3D services were done at Warner Bros. in Argentina.

Character development[edit]

During character development, all of the film's characters had to be approved by Metro Trains. The goal was for the characters to look like they were drawn in style of other Metro Trains works. Animal Logic created new characters that were not featured in the series, such as Reite, Keanu Reeves, and over 48 incidental characters.
