Annual Charity Ergathon Tayforth Boat Race |
Dundee University Boat Club (DUBC) is one of the largest sports clubs at the University of Dundee. Founded in 1991..[1] by a small group of students, it has steadily grown and now has an average of 80 members. The club celebrated their 25th anniversary in 2016.
Members from Abertay University have previously attended, but cannot race in events such as BUCS.
Facilities and Training[edit]
The DUBC boathouse is located in Inchyra, ten minutes from the city of Perth. Water training takes place biweekly, on the River Tay. Land training sessions take place in the ISE on the Dundee University Campus.
Training is student-lead, with members of the club having undertaken a UKCC Level 2 qualification.

Fundraising for Charity[edit]
An annual charity ergathon takes place, most recently for Tay FM Cash for Kids. In 2018, 650 miles were rowed over 24 hours, raising over £500 for the charity.
An annual fundraising ceilidh takes place every January. In 2018, a donation was given to Dundee Association of Mental Health (DAMH)
Tayforth Boat Race[edit]
Tayforth Boat Race[4] is an annual university boat race between DUBC and Stirling University Boat Club. Both clubs host on alternating years. The race features coxed 4s (4+), mixed 8s (8+) and small boats over a 2km stretch.
