Dunshaughlin 7th Meath Scouts

7th Meath Scouting Group is a scout group based in the Republic of Ireland in the town of Dunshaughlin, County Meath. The group is part of Gleann Na Boinne Scout district in the North Eastern Province.

History

Dunshaughlin Scouts was officially registered with Scouting Ireland in February of 1977.[1][dead link]

The Den

In 2016, Dunshaughlin Scouts appealed for community help to try to help fund a new and permanent Scout Den in Dunshaughlin Business Park, which would provide an easy way to store gear and offer a secure meeting site for the Scouting Group.[2]

On 17 February 2022, the 7th Meath Scouts opened its doors after purchasing the building for €144,000.[citation needed]

Community Activities

In July 2024, the 7th Meath Scouts held a Biodiversity project at a site in Dunshaughlin, planting over 5000 trees using the Miyawaki method to create a mini forest in the town. Over the years, Dunshaughlin have also helped the Dunshaughlin Tidy Towns clean up the town.[3][not in citation given]

Scouting Competitions

Dunshaughlin have competed in various different scouting competitions, such as the Gleann na Boinne County Shield and the Phoenix Challenge.[citation needed] 7th Meath Scouters[dubious ] will compete in the Phoenix Challenge in County Limerick from 14 August to 17 August 2025.[4][not in citation given]
