History
The Dupage Policy Journal website was first brought online in April 2015 with the tagline "Watching Local Government in Illinois' second-largest county".[3]. Local Government Information Services, the funding arm of Dupage Policy Journal, was registered as a corporation in Illinois on Monday, 15 August 2016.[4] It is currently associated with over 30 publications throughout the Illinois area, including Chicago City Wire, DeKalb Times, Peoria Standard, among many others.[5][6]
Controversy
Local Government Information Services, the funding arm of Dupage Policy Journal[7], has been criticized as being Pink Slime Journalism [8][9][10]
On September 7, 2022, NBC Channel 5 Chicago reported that Dupage Policy Journal sent out mailers styled as newspapers to Illinois Voters without disclosing that the mailers were funded by the conservative Political Action Committee named "Play by the Rules".[11]
