Durga Prasad Dube is an Indian author, researcher, and Cyber Security Professional. He was born and raised in Jagatsinghpur, Odisha.

He has an experience of 30+ years in working for public, private, academic, and research organizations in senior management positions with diverse industry experience in BFSI, petrochemicals, organized multiband retail, healthcare, media & entertainment, and telecom, in both business and cyber security and technology risk management roles.[1].

Career

He is one of the leaders in the banking industry to champion the need for information security and technology risk management. After having worked for almost 24 years in Reserve Bank of India in various business and technology roles, he shifted his career to the private sector to pursue his profession in Cyber Security and Technology Risk Management. Before leaving the Reserve Bank of India, he was on duty with IDRBT as faculty. While in IDRBT, he was selected for the Diamond Jubilee Overseas Banking Research fellowship in 2004.[2]. This fellowship is said to be a very prestigious award which is given every year by IIBF to one banker in the country to do research in one of the emerging areas which is relevant for the banking sector in general. As part of his Diamond Jubilee Overseas Banking Research Fellowship, he did research on “Evolving an Information System Assurance Framework for the Indian Banking Sector” and discussed at length the issues related to Information System Assurance, with the following organizations in the UK and USA:

He has worked in many reputed and large global organizations in senior positions and has a consistent track record of success in getting initiatives off the ground and flourishing, in the quickest possible timeframe.

His USP is “Regulators’ perspective blended with that of a technologist, business strategist, and cyber security expert”.

It is notable that throughout his corporate journey, his academic and research interests kept accentuated, and he authored books and many referred research papers in the area of Cyber Security and Technology Risk Management. He did seminar research in the area of Cyber Security Governance, Capability Maturity Model, and performance evaluation, which led to his obtaining a Ph.D. in this area from IBCS.
