Dyal Singh Sandhu (born on November 20,1953 – 15 March 2021) was an Indian Politician better known by Jathedar Dyal Singh Kolianwali [1]also known as Jathedar Kolianwali[2]. He was the Member of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee[3], Former Muktsar district president[4] of the Shiromani Akali Dal, Former Chairmain[5] [6]of Punjab Agro Foodgrains Corporation[7] and was appointed a member of the Punjab Subordinate Services Selection Board. He was close to Parkash Singh Badal.
Family[edit]
Born to Jagtar Singh and Gulab Kaur, he lost his parents when he was still a child, and was brought up in his Grandparents. He is married to Amarjit Kaur, and he has a son and a daughter. Nephew Pardeep Singh Kollianwali[8][9][10]
Political career[edit]
His political career began when he became close to SAD leader Jasvir Singh Kakhanwali of Lambi area. After Kakhanwali’s death, Dyal Singh[1] became close to the Badals[11].
He started as a sarpanch of Kolianwali village and was the Muktsar district president[4] of the SAD. He held several key positions - member of the Punjab Subordinate Services Selection Board and chairman[5][7] of Punjab Agro Foodgrains Corporation.[12]
He was focusing on Sarawan Zail comprising 17 villages.
