Early life and education[edit]

Aste was born in San Diego County. He spent his childhood in Escondido, California, and grew up with his mother Kathleen and older brother Colin.

Aste went to college at San Diego State University. [3] He graduated cum laude in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. Aste earned many scholarships, honors, and awards along the way.[which?]

After college, Aste went to law school at the University of San Diego School of Law.[4] He graduated cum laude and in the top 10% of his class in 2011.[1] While in law school, Aste published two law review articles,[5][6] earned academic scholarships[which?], and other honors and awards.[citation needed]

After being admitted to the California State Bar,[7] Aste began practicing law. He clerked for two Federal District Court judges. After passing the Patent Bar,[8] Aste practiced patent law.
