Dyloot (born Jason Sperling; December 22, 1977) is an American trance music DJ and producer from Berkeley, California.
History
Beginning in 1995, Jason "Dyloot" Sperling began DJing in San Francisco's underground scene, spinning progressive techno. Dyloot has maintained his status as one of the biggest Trance music DJs in the Bay Area.[1]
In 1997, he stepped into the realm of event promotion and started Skills Productions with then-partner and DJ, Tom Slik. Skills quickly became one of the biggest electronic dance music event (see also, rave) promoters in California and the United States.[1]
Skillsdj held their first event, ElectroTechnoDiscoPopsicle, at 2&Jax in May 1999. In June 1999, Dyloot and Tom Slik opened their record store, Skills DJ Workshop, in Berkeley, Ca. The record store had the largest selection of underground dance music in the Bay Area and was one of the last remaining record stores dedicated to electronic dance music.[2][3] As of June 5, 2009, the Skills DJ store closed, and on July 26, 2009, they focused solely on productions and events.
In 2004, Dyloot and Steve Baltes of Germany began producing under the name Deep Voices.[4] Their latest artist album, "More Than Air," was released in late winter 2008.
