ECMS Express (known as ECMS) is an international courier company that offers end-to-end shipping and delivery services.[1] ECMS was founded in 2013 as part of the Apex Logistics Group, operating as a separate business unit designed to provide logistics and fulfillment services for e-commerce brands in China and internationally.[2] In 2014, ECMS became a carrier of Amazon and brought Amazon into China's e-commerce market.[3] ECMS formed a partnership with Shopee in 2015 and held a seminar together in Japan in 2019. History
In 2013, Yang Cao established ECMS Express and set up offices in Beijing and Los Angeles, initially based on his observation of how Chinese consumers appreciate e-commerce access to quality products that are not readily available in the Chinese market.[5] In 2014, ECMS's United States office officially developed cross-border delivery and fulfillment capabilities. At the same time, ECMS's customs clearance capabilities were established in Tianjin, Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou.[6] In 2015, ECMS's Netherlands and Korea offices were strategically set up and positioned with a focus on the U.S. and Asia Pacific markets. The Netherlands office has recently obtained its Authorized Economic Operator certification.[6] In 2016, ECMS's Japan and Hong Kong offices were set up to focus on bridging the United States and Asia Pacific markets.[7] In 2017, following the success of the other branches, ECMS's United Kingdom office was also set up, with a focus as a group investment to establish network capabilities with the United States and Asia Pacific markets.[7] In 2018, ECMS inaugurated the U.S. to Singapore and Japan trade lanes, the U.S. to Europe, and China to Southeast Asia region trade lanes.[7] In 2019, ECMS inaugurated Europe to Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, and Southeast Asia region trade lanes. At the same time, ECMS commenced the U.S. to Southeast Asia region trade lanes.[8]
