EO Premium 601 Serie
EO Premium 601 Serie is a brand of cigar owned by Espinosa Cigars, previously known as EO Brands/United Tobacco.[1]
History and background[edit]
The brand was created by José "Pepin" Garcia as well as the co-founders of United Tobacco Erik Espinosa & Eddie Ortega all 601 cigars are manufactured at the Tabacalera Cubana factory in the Estelí, Nicaragua. The brand was introduced in August 2006.[2]
United Tobacco's latest creation, Cubao is also manufactured by Don 'Pepin' Garcia in Esteli, Nicaragua.[citation needed]
Honors/awards/ratings[edit]
- The 601 Connecticut Robusto received an 88 rating in the February, 2007, issue of Cigar Aficionado magazine.[3]
- The 601 Habano (red label) Robusto received a 90 rating in the October 2007 issue of Cigar Aficionado magazine.[citation needed]
"Good oils & deep color make this a beautiful cigar. Rich coffee bean & licorice notes are balanced by a wheaty finish. A medium to full bodied smoke."
- The 601 Oscuro Habano (green label) La Punta received a 91 rating in the Sept./Oct. issue of Cigar Snob magazine.
"Delivers bold, rich flavors of dark coffee, mocha & spice. Balances out well for such full body."
- The 601 Maduro (blue label) was given Robb Reports 'Best of the best' for 2008. It also received a 91 rating in Cigar Aficionado's Cigar Insider publication.[citation needed]

This brand is available in four ranges of five vitolas each and one range of four. All ranges come in boxes of 20.[citation needed]
601 Connecticut[edit]
A medium to full-bodied smoke, the filler and binder are Nicaraguan tobacco and the wrapper is Ecuadoran-grown Connecticut-seed tobacco. The band has gold printing on a black background. The line was discontinued in 2010.[citation needed]

601 Habano[edit]
A full-bodied smoke, the filler and binder are Nicaraguan tobaccos and the wrapper is the Nicaraguan Habano. The band has gold printing on a red background.
This line is often erroneously called "maduro" by various dealers.[citation needed]

601 Box-pressed Maduro[edit]
Released in late March 2007, this is the first box-pressed cigar and the first maduro made by Pepin Garcia. It is a full-bodied smoke, the filler and binder are aged Nicaraguan tobaccos and the wrapper is Nicaraguan Maduro.[4] The band has gold printing on a blue background.[citation needed]

601 Habano Oscuro[edit]
Released in August 2007, this is the strongest of the 601 series. The filler and binder use Nicaraguan leaf and the wrapper is Nicaraguan Habano Oscuro. The band has a green background with gold printing, similar to the others in this series. This extension consists of five vitolas and they come in 20 count boxes, except for the Corona, which is packed in 40 ct. boxes.[citation needed]
