ePayLater is a digital payment solution offered by Arthashastra Fintech Pvt. Ltd. It was founded by Akshat Saxena, Aurko Bhattacharya, and Uday Somayajula in December 2015. The startup is recognized by the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion of the Government of India's Ministry of Commerce.

ePaylater enables a credit-based payment solution through which users can get access to a spending limit to make online purchases. The company gives customers the option to ‘buy now and pay later’ on online portals.

Business Focus[edit]

ePayLater extends a line of credit to individuals either for personal consumption i.e B2C or for purchasing business supplies (in case of self-employed professionals) i.e B2B. For the B2B segment, ePayLater gives working capital assisstance to small businesses and SMEs.

Funding[edit]

In June 2016, ePayLater raised $2 million in a seed round of funding.[1]

In January 2019, ePayLater completed Pre-Series A Funding from ICICI Bank & Japan's GMO Global Fintech Fund[2]

Major Partnerships[edit]

In June 2017, ePayLater' was launched on Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), a subsidiary of the Indian Railways that handles the catering, tourism and online ticketing operations of the Indian railways.[3]

In May 2018, ePayLater along with IDFC Bank launched a UPI powered credit solution.[4]

In May 2018, Stefan van den Berg, founder and former CEO of AfterPay, provider of pay after delivery payment services in Western Europe and ANZ region, joined ePayLater as a strategic advisor.[5]
