Eastrise Aviation is a privately owned flight training academy in Malawi[1] and flies from Kamuzu International Airport in Lilongwe. In March 2020, the civil aviation authority of Malawi, commonly called the Department of Civil Aviation issued the Approved Training Organization (ATO) certificate to Eastrise.

History[edit]
On 3 February 2016, Ian C Maliseni founded Eastrise Aviation, also commonly known as Eastrise. In January 2019, Eastrise was officially entered in the Malawi Business Registry and became a registered business under registration number MBRS1043274. In the same month, it was successfully registered as a tax compliant entity with the Malawi Revenue Authority. In February 2020, Eastrise Aviation relocated to Guoji Dream Town in Lilongwe where the academy maintains its registered office.
Courses[edit]
The academy initially started with the private pilot license training before upgrading to the commercial pilot license. Eastrise launched the first online ground school in Malawi as well as a mobile app running on Android for mock exams which enables test preparation for various courses on offer at the academy.
Accreditation and certifications[edit]
Eastrise Aviation is an Approved Training Organization (ATO) in Malawi under registration number DCA/ATO/006 [2]. As at 19 April 2019, Eastrise Aviation is in the process of registering with the US Federal Aviation Administration to become a satellite training center outside the USA.

As of March 2022, Eastrise Aviation has a fleet consisting of Cessna and Beechcraft [3].
