Ebenezer Bruce-Tagoe
Ebenezer Nii Otoe Bruce-Tagoe is a Ghanaian sports photographer known for his coverage of boxing, tennis, and football events in Ghana and other parts of Africa. His work focuses on live-action sports photography, particularly combat and racket sports.
Early life and education
Bruce-Tagoe was born in Accra, Ghana, and grew up in the city. He attended St. Mary’s Anglican Primary School and Bishop Mixed Junior Secondary School before continuing his education at Accra Technical Training Centre. He later studied information technology and graphic design at Corel Computer Centre.
Career
Bruce-Tagoe began his professional career in visual media through graphic design before transitioning fully into photography. He registered his first creative business, Mystics Grafix, and later operated Seven and Seven Creative Studio, focusing on photography and visual production.
His entry into sports photography came through covering boxing events at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra, working with Box Office Sports Promotions. His boxing photography later expanded through collaborations with the Ghana Boxing Federation and the Ghana Boxing Authority, where he covered numerous national boxing events.
Bruce-Tagoe later broadened his sports coverage to tennis, documenting tournaments at the Accra Sports Stadium and various International Tennis Federation (ITF) events in Ghana. His work extended beyond Ghana when he covered the Billie Jean King Cup Africa Group III in Kenya in 2023 and again in 2024.
In football, he has provided photographic coverage for FIFA-related tournaments held in Ghana and Kenya. Over the course of his career, Bruce-Tagoe has worked with organisations such as the Tennis Foundation Ghana and the Ghana Tennis Federation.
