Echo Planet is a 3D cartoon that addresses the issue of global warming caused by humans. It follows the adventure of three children who come from different places. This animation was produced by Kantana, directed by Kompin Kemgumnird, based on the screenplay by Waranyu Udumkanjanakul and Kongdej Jaturanrasmee[1]. It tells the adventure story of three children from two corners of the world: the metropolis of New Cite, the Capitol State, and a northern village in Thailand. Together, they collaborate to rescue the world from the dangers of global warming.[2]
This film marks Thailand's first foray into computer-animated stereoscopic 3D cinema.[2]
Plot[edit]
Chopae is a young boy with the special ability to communicate with nature, while Nova is a skilled herbalist and Karen fighting style. Both encounter Sam, the son of the President of Capital State, who joins them in the World Scout Jamboree in Thailand. They get lost in the misty forest, and when Chopae and Nova help him, their friendship begins.[3]
Meanwhile, they receive warnings from the sky: an oracle, the village's seer, predicts imminent danger. She warns that unless someone stops it, a catastrophe will befall the world.[2] The escalating global warming causes the emergence of the Heat Demon, BUCT, which rapidly expands and wreaks havoc by devouring energy worldwide.[4]
To address this crisis, world leaders decide to use the known weapon, Cool Bomb, against the Heat Demon. However, only Chopae, Nova, and Sam understand that Cool Bomb will have catastrophic consequences, leading to the potential extinction of humanity. The only way to survive is to stop using all forms of energy. With time running out to stop Cool Bomb and the Heat Demon, failure would mean the end of life on this tiny planet[3]. Prompted by this, Chopae and Nova lead Sam out of the forest. However, the danger signal intensifies, compelling them to journey to the Capitol State together.
In unity, the trio faces obstacles to halt the impending global crisis, focusing on environmental conservation and sustainable energy. Together, they strive to overcome challenges, aiming to avert the impending disaster and preserve the world for future generations.[2]

Production[edit]
The production team of "Echo Planet" at Kantana Animation spent over 3 years creating ‘Echo planet’ starting from research and exploration of the way of life of the Karen people in Mae Hong Son province. They also delved into their beliefs and various rituals to develop the film. The primary aim of the movie was to raise awareness about environmental issues, particularly global warming, and to reflect environmental concerns comprehensively to audiences of all ages.
Kantana invested over 170 million baht in developing complex production processes to make this animated film in Stereoscopic 3D. This effort aimed to match the standards of international animated film productions, providing deep and beautiful visuals that enhance the viewing experience. It's as if the audience becomes real participants in the adventure with the characters, thanks to the immersive dimensionality of the film.
Regarding voice acting, the production team approached Nuengthida Sophon (noona), an actress known for her role in the film "Guan Muen Ho," to voice the character Nova. She expressed her excitement but also mentioned the significant preparation required. The production team described scenes in their imagination to her, and she performed her voice acting without seeing the actual visuals, which she found to be quite challenging. However, she received guidance from the voice director, Montri Chenakson, on how to communicate according to their vision.
