EcoRocket Program

The EcoRocket program is a program that was created by ARCA SPACE (Romanian Association for Cosmonautics and Aeronautics). This program has two development phases:
Phase 1: EcoRocket Demonstrator - a small vehicle designed to launch 10 kg into low Earth orbit (LEO)
Phase 2: EcoRocket Heavy - a large vehicle, designed to launch 24 tonnes into low Earth orbit (LEO)
ARCA SPACE is currently working on this program and working hard to start building the EcoRocket Heavy and launching the EcoRocket Demonstrator
EcoRocket Demonstrator
It is a small rocket that has the ability to launch 10 kg in low Earth orbit and aims to demonstrate two important characteristics:
- Cost Effectiveness
- Environmental protection
The program started when the "Future of Rockets" was presented, when the EcoRocket Demonstrator rocket was presented. Between 2020 and June 2021, they intensively tested and renewed the model of the rocket several times. They planned to launch the rocket in June 2021, but after that launch date it was cancelled due to training that ARCA wanted to carry out with the rocket on the Black Sea before launching it. At the end of July ARCA cancelled the launch 2-3 more times and at the beginning of August they had an event in which they said they cancelled the launch of the EcoRocket Demonstrator rocket because of a missing permit. The launch was rescheduled for January-May 2022. In the end they received the permit but a few hours before the launch they cancelled it because of the Russia-Ukraine war that was around the Black Sea. Rocket data:[1]

EcoRocket Heavy

This rocket is the most powerful rocket in the world. ARCA SPACE wants to launch its missions to asteroids with this rocket. ARCA SPACE presented the model of these rockets at the presentation of the 777 event held at the ARCA SPACE military base near Ramnicu Valcea. EcoRocket Heavy will start its construction as soon as possible at the ARCA SPACE Cosmobase.[2]
