Eddie Garcia
Eddie Garcia (born 1985, Houston, Texas) is an American government official serving as Procurement Lead at the Office of Management and Budget within the Executive Office of the President. He was appointed by Governor Glenn Youngkin to the Board of Directors of Virginia Humanities in 2024.[1]
Early life and education
Garcia was born in Houston, Texas. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies from the University of the Incarnate Word in 2015 and later received a Juris Doctor from The George Washington University Law School in 2019.[2]
Career
Garcia began his professional career serving in the United States Army from 2007 to 2015, including roles as a Finance Specialist and later Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge at The Fort Hood Legal Assistance Office at Fort Hood, Texas.[3]
In 2016, Garcia served as a White House intern for Barack Obama in the Domestic Policy Council.[4] He subsequently joined the U.S. Department of Defense as a Contract Administrator, managing contracts related to bulk petroleum and utilities privatization valued in the billions of dollars.[5]
Since December 2023, Garcia has served as Procurement Lead at the Office of Management and Budget, where he oversees interagency efforts focused on strengthening domestic manufacturing and supply chain resilience.
Board and civic involvement
In November 2024, Garcia was appointed by Governor Glenn Youngkin to the Board of Directors of the Virginia Humanities, where he provides strategic oversight for initiatives supporting humanities and public policy in Virginia.[2]

Garcia is a member of The Bretton Woods Committee, the Federalist Society, and the Order of Saint Joachim, among other civic organizations.[6]
Personal life
Garcia is married to Sookyung Yoon and has one son named Brian Garcia. [2]
