Eddie Hargitay (born October 8, 1978 in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California) is an American actor, born in Hollywood, California. His godfather and great uncle was actor and former Mr. Universe Mickey Hargitay. His cousins are Mickey Hargitay and Jayne Mansfield's children, Miklós, Zoltán and Mariska Hargitay of Law and Order: SVU fame, and their older half-sister Tina Hargitay.

Continuing his acting lineage, he attended the Lee Strasberg Film and Theatre Institute and was awarded multiple scholarships while in attendance. He has performed in several theatre, television and film productions, including a first for Hargitay, a Web-series for American Eagle's campaign It's a Mall World directed by Heroes star Milo Ventimiglia. The "webisodes" are due to start airing on American Eagle's official website, during episodes of the new season of MTV's The Real World: Sydney and in American Eagle stores nationwide on August 2.[citation needed]
Hargitay also made his directorial debut with a dark comedy titled Black Eyed Paper Cowboys in January 2012. It's an urban tale about starting over in Los Angeles.[citation needed]
Hargitay currently can be seen in Milo Ventimiglia's Web-series ULTRADOME for MSN.COM's Parallel Universe. Hargitay portrays Wolverine in ULTRADOME Episode 3, "Hulk vs. Wolverine". The ULTRADOME series will debate the comparative merits of science fiction characters, and is a collaboration between Agility Studios and Milo Ventimiglia's DiVide Pictures. In the first episode, Ventimiglia will argue in favor of Lord of the Rings' superiority to Star Wars.[citation needed]
