Eddie Blazquez is an American musician, author, and director. He is known as the frontman of the Latin group Toke D Keda, for starring and directing in Mega TV's series El Show Mas Estupido De La Television[1][2], and for creating and directing the docuseries I'm Not Supposed to Be Here (2025), which premiered on The Roku Channel. He is also the author of a memoir of the same name.[3][4] As of 2025, his music has streamed in over 162 countries, with more than 67 million streams across all albums, making him one of the most streamed independent Bachata artists in the digital era. [5] Eddie is a voting member of The Latin Grammys and the The Latin Recording Academy [6]

Early life

Blazquez was born and raised in Puerto Rico and later based in Miami, Florida. His Father is from Spain, while his mother is from Puerto Rico. In 1998 he won an international recording contract with Sony Music as part of the TV series Suenos De Fama which aired nationally on Telemundo Networks.

Career

Early recordings

Blazquez released a ten-track, self-titled solo album, Eddie Blazquez, in 1996. It includes tracks such as "Cuántas Veces," "Vete Ya," and "Amor Amargo".[7]

Toke D Keda

By the mid-2000s, Blazquez became the lead singer of Toke D Keda, a Miami-based group. Their debut album, Picando Alante, was released in 2005.[8] The band later released compilations and singles, including "Debo Pensar" and "Lamento Boliviano". In 2008 they released Lo Siento.

Touring

Eddie Blazquez has performed over 550 concerts across more than 60 countries on six continents, including Russia, Japan, China, Australia, Egypt, Spain, Italy, Singapore, the United Kingdom, Greece, Thailand, Sweden, Turkey, Hungary, the Netherlands, and Norway.[9]

Film and television

Blazquez directed and starred in the four-part docuseries I'm Not Supposed to Be Here (2025),[10] which premiered on The Roku Channel.[4] He is also credited as a producer on the film Santiago the Dreamer in Land Among the Stars (2014) starring Ricky Martin and on the music video CNCO feat. Abraham Mateo: Quisiera (Ballad Version) (2016).[3]In 2005 he starred in Mega TV's series El Show Mas Estupido De La television, which he also directed.[11][12]

Blazquez is the author of the memoir I'm Not Supposed To Be Here (2024).[13]

Musical style

Blazquez's work blends bachata with Latin pop and fusion elements, both as a solo artist and with Toke D Keda.[14]
