Edmund Culmer (Theologian) c.1826-1901 B.A NRE was an English Theologian, Minister and author who lived in Belgravia London, He is believed to be a direct descendant of the prolific English reformer Sir. Richard Culmer of Canterbury and is from one of the most famous theological lines in England his father, Rev. Edward Culmer was likewise a theologian M.A (Queens Cantab). Edmund's most notable work was with famed theologian Frederick Denison Maurice the social theologian and socialite and later with Nevile Figgis of Canterbury, His work 'a narrative of God' was 'worth its weight in silver' as a Christian expository to Baptist Minister CH Spurgeon. He was survived by his only son Maurice Culmer D.D who compiled the work 'a conclusive narrative of God' and his son is also mentioned in Burke's Peerage as ' Sir Maurice Culmer (although he rejected this title and peerage as he became a prominent leader in the emerging Baptist Alliance adopting the title Rev. M.R Culmer.) and who penned the book 'divinity be design' (limited in circulation).

Along with vital literary works,Culmer also worked on papers on political and social philosophy.
