Edward Barrie Knowles

Edward Barrie Knowles is an international cricketer who plays for the Czech Republic. He captained the side during their T20 World Cup Qualifying campaign.

Early Life

Edward was brought up Cape Town, South Africa where he went to Gene Louw Primary School and Fairmont High School. He is the youngest of 3 brothers who all attended Fairmont High School. Edward finished High School in 1999 and pursued a career in Sports Management after which he attained his Teaching Degree.

Cricket Career

Edward played cricket from a young age and represent his primary and high schools 1st team. He captained Fairmont High School during the 1999 season. After school he played for Durbanville Cricket Club. After leaving South Africa his cricket career really took off. He joined Kew Cricket Club in West London where he went on to captain their First side from 2009 to 2012. He left England and after a few spells in Dubai, Doha, Turkey, Sweden, Croatia, Italy, Spain and Belarus he finally settled in Prague. After 3 years playing in Prague he was called up to the Czech National team where he captained the team during the 2018 season.
