Edward H. Harlow

Edward H. Harlow (born 15 December 1899 - 31 August 2002) was the last Canadian sailor in World War I, he joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1917 but never saw action. In 1917 he was a survivor of the huge ammunition ship explosion in Halifax, Nova Scotia, a disaster that killed 1,500 people and injured nearly 2,000 more. After he was discharged he immigrated to the United States and moved to San Francisco in 1925. He died on 31 August 2002, he was 102. He was buried on September 6, 2002 at the Royal Canadian Legion plot at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Colma.
