Touching The Void:
Hayter's performance was considered as "pitch perfect" as it felt real and truly authentic. [23] Hayter was so into his role that he "radiates the moral anguish" of his own staging character. [24] Because of the strong winds while making the play, Hayter had to yell so he could be heard by the public. [25] On The Afternoon Show, Janice Forsyth spoke to Edward Hayter. Forsyth has stated "Edward is the power of theatre" and has said that he could be taken anywhere if he concentrate the audience. [26]
To Dream:
Nicole Albarelli, director of To Dream, has said about Hayter that she had written the script with Hayter in mind as they shot a music video (Love Song by Jagga) a few years ago with the same actors and same subject. Albarelli wanted Hayter to still audition for Luke. [27] Albarelli said that she needed to get a good performance from Hayter as he was going through some challenges at the time so they locked him in a room for the "mirror scene".[28] Film Threat has stated in their review of the film that Hayter brilliantly command his roles through arrogance and vulnerability, showing how becoming an adult is actually horrifying uncertain.[29]
