Egy Maulana Vikri (born 7 July 2000 in Medan) is an Indonesian professional footballer who currently plays for Espanyol in La Liga as a Forward.[1]

Career[edit]

Early career[edit]

Egy started his youth career in football with SSB Tasbi Medan. He catches eyes of the scouts when he plays for SSB Tasbi in Grassroots Indonesian U-12 Tournament 2012 where he became the top scorer of the tournament and lead his team to the title.

Furthermore, he was trained in the Sports Special School, better known as Diklat Ragunan. Egy is also the younger brother of PON North Sumatra player, Yusrizal Muzakki who is now in PSBL Langsa.

In 2015, Egy managed to bring Indonesia into a champion in the Gothia Cup event in Sweden and became the best player Gothia Cup also Topcorers with 26 goals in the tournament.

After that he plays for Persab Brebes in the Soeratin Cup competition which also brought him a champion and a topscore with 22 goals.[2]

His talent also smelled international media when U-19 national team in the Toulon Tournament in France on 29 May to 10 June 2017. At that time the prestigious Egy award, Jouer Revelation Trophee. No reckless players this award. Long before Egy, a similar award was received by Cristiano Ronaldo and Zinedine Zidane in his era.[3][4]

Indonesia U-19

He made his debut for Indonesia U-19 in the 2017 Toulon Tournament on June 1, 2017 against Brazil U-20.[5] His impressive performance at the tournament earned him the Breakthrough Player of the 2017 Toulon Tournament.[6]
