It also helped with Wikipedia formatting and submission instructions. Ehetasham Tahir is an automotive engineer working in autonomous mobility in the Netherlands. He worked as a test engineer on the WEpods automated-shuttle project and subsequently worked on autonomous-shuttle testing in Groningen.[1][2] A University of Groningen event announcement in 2026 identifies him as technical director of autonomous mobility at the Province of Groningen.[3]

Career

In September 2016, German technology publication Heise published Hans Dorsch's report on the WEpods project at Wageningen University. The report identified Tahir as a test engineer and described him operating a shuttle with a joystick during a software-update restriction and accompanying automated journeys with access to the emergency-stop control.[1]

A 2018 announcement by the Royal Netherlands Society of Engineers (KIVI) identified Tahir as chief engineer at robotTUNER. It described his earlier work on WEpods in Gelderland, testing of EasyMile EZ10 and Navya shuttles with the Province of Groningen, and collaboration with KPN and 5Groningen to explore connections between 5G networks and autonomous vehicles.[2]

The final report on autonomous transport at Ommelander Hospital in Scheemda lists Tahir in the project implementation team, with RobotTuner and, from 2019, the Province of Groningen.[4] In October 2026, the University of Groningen listed him as a contributor to its Tammes Talks session on automated driving.[3]

Knowledge for Policy community

As of October 2026, Tahir is listed among community members of the Competence Centre on Participatory and Deliberative Democracy on the European Commission's Knowledge for Policy platform. His profile describes work in public-sector policy, autonomous mobility, AI governance and emerging technologies.[5]
