Founding and Early Years (1987–1995)

The company was founded in 1987[8] by Hermann Ehrhardt in Boppard-Buchholz.[9] During its early years, EPG implemented projects in shipyard and port logistics and developed workforce planning systems and early software solutions for batch traceability.[10]

Expansion and Internationalization (1996–2005)

In the mid-1990s, additional shareholders joined the company. From the late 1990s onward, EPG established its first international subsidiaries in Europe, including Spain.[10] In 2005, EPG opened a training center and expanded its activities in Eastern Europe. During this period, new offices were founded in Basel (2003) and Dubai (2006).[11]

Technological Advancement and Global Presence (2006–2015)

From 2006 onward, EPG increased its international presence. A logistics center was established in the Middle East in 2010, followed by expansion into Eastern Europe in 2011. In 2012, a new office complex was completed at the headquarters in Boppard-Buchholz. In 2016, the group acquired topsystem GmbH, a company specializing in logistics and voice systems.[12]

Innovation and Digitalization (2016–2021)

Between 2016 and 2021, the company focused on developing digital and speech-based assistance systems for logistics processes. During this period, EPG received several industry awards for technological developments.[13][14]

Sustainability and International Recognition (since 2022)

Since 2022, the group has engaged in sustainability initiatives, including acquiring a majority stake in Greenplan, a provider of route and tour optimization software.[15] In 2023, EPG opened a new office in Tokyo.[16] Building on its sustainability initiatives, the group expanded its international supply chain capabilities by acquiring Byways in 2025, a provider of dock and yard management software.[17]

Ehrhardt Partner Group develops, distributes, and implements software solutions for logistics and supply chain management. Its portfolio includes the warehouse management system LFS, LYDIA Voice speech solutions, and systems for transport and route planning, workforce management, multi-carrier management, and yard management. These applications are integrated into the EPG ONE Supply Chain Execution Suite and are supplemented by consulting and managed services.[18][19]
