Ehsan Shafiee
Biography
Ehsan Shafiee was born on 9 November in Tehran. From a young age, he showed immense interest in percussion instruments and, starting at age 6, he began learning the Persian instrument called "Tonbak".[1] In the early 2000s, Ehsan began learning Latin percussion and in 2004, he attended Mr. Homayoon Nassiri's classes. This was a turning point in his career, and playing this instrument became a significant part of Ehsan's life.[2]
Occupation
In 2009, Ehsan joined the renowned Persian group called "Darkoob Band".[3] The band's high caliber musicians, combined with Mr. Nassiri's leadership, significantly influenced Ehsan's musical development.[4]
For four years, he collaborated with numerous bands and artists, including the Symphonic orchestra of Violet, Faseleh band, Vasle Yaar band, Maantra band, and many more. He also briefly led Mr. Roozbeh Nematollahi's band, one of Iran's well-known artists.[5]
In 2012, to further his musical knowledge and career, Ehsan travelled to Cyprus, collaborating with numerous musical groups. He not only played on many recordings but also helped compose some of them. His contribution was recognized. For his work on the single "Unrecognized country" from the album "The Journey", he received the 2016 bronze medal from the Global Music Award.[6][7]
Ehsan is currently a university student pursuing a Bachelor of Music degree. He is also a member of the highly renowned band called "Kakoo band".[8] He is also preparing to release his own album.
