Eitan Bar
Dr. Eitan Bar (איתן בר) (born 31 October 1984 in Tel Aviv) is an Israeli author and apologist who defines himself as a "Jewish-Christian."[1] He is most well known for producing evangelistic videos of apologetic and polemic nature[2] some of which are critical of Rabbinic Judaism and the Oral Torah, and presenting Jesus as the Jewish Messiah. Eitan Bar is the first and only Jew in history to publicly debate an Orthodox rabbi in Israel and in the Hebrew language.
Though born into a Jewish family with Holocaust survivors in his ancestry,[3] Bar believes Jesus to be the Jewish Messiah and his work is dedicated to persuading others to agree. He is married to Kate Bar and lives in Netanya, Israel.
In 2009, Bar founded ONE FOR ISRAEL Ministry. His videos are not only promoting Jesus and the New Testament, but are critical of Traditional Rabbinic Judaism, based on the Talmud. He has also written several books on the subject. [4]
Education and career
Bar studied multimedia design and visual communications at John Bryce Training College in Tel-Aviv, 2003-2004.[5] Later, in 2009, he gained a degree in Biblical Studies from Israel College of the Bible and later an MDiv Equivalency. In 2013 he gained a Masters in Theological Studies from Liberty University, and in 2020 received his doctorate (DMin, Middle East Studies) from Dallas Theological Seminary in the US.[6]
Bar initially pursued a career in advertising but later joined Cru to work in their campus ministry, and then their virtual ministry, using the internet to share the gospel (2006–2013). Bar is currently the Director of Evangelism and Apologetics at Israel College of the Bible, within the One For Israel non-profit organization[7] in Netanya, Israel.
There are many thousands of Messianic Jews around the world, with some estimates exceeding a million.[8] including some 30,000 in Israel alone[9] However, this is only a small fraction of world Jewry.
ONE FOR ISRAEL, which is staffed by Jewish and Arab Israelis, is working to become the leading organization in sharing the Gospel of Yeshua with all Israelis, both Jewish and Arab.[10] Connected with Israel College of the Bible, they use media and the internet to reach Israelis with the message of the gospel, and are seeing a lot of positive response [11]
In 2022, Eitan left ONE FOR ISRAEL and Israel College of the Bible, and renounced Calvinism[12] himself as well. In April of 2023 Eitan released a new book against Calvinism[13] which led to the Bible College (now ONE FOR ISRAEL) to send out a mass email a few days later announcing he was fired due to his wife at the time divorcing him. The ministry also removed all his past videos to date.

Criticism
Bar has accrued a large following on social media, with his various websites and his YouTube channels, but he has also drawn a lot of hostility and criticism for being a "Christian missionary".[15][16][17][18]
As an apologist within Judaism, Bar has become widely known in Israel for his controversial videos, even catching the attention of national media.[19][20] Channel 13, 25th June 2020.[21]
Attempts have been made to sue YouTube for showing the videos, alleging that they are illegally targeting minors.[22] [15] but the claims were unsubstantiated and the attempt was ultimately unsuccessful.
