El Paso Locomotive VS New Mexico United is a soccer rivalry in the USL Championship, between the El Paso Locomotive FC and New Mexico United clubs. Both clubs play in the Western Conference of the USL Championship, in the Mountain Division.

The clubs began play during the 2019 USL Championship Season when the El Paso Locomotive were added to the league as an expansion team. Their first meeting was on May 12, 2019 in Southwest University Park, which ended in a 2-2 draw. The rivalry has been ongoing for 3 years and has been a very even matchup so far. The clubs have met a total of 11 times in the regular season resulting in El Paso Locomotive leading the series 3-2-6 over New Mexico United.

Playoffs[edit]
The rivalry has made its way into the USL Championship Playoffs once so far during the 2020 USL Championship Playoffs. The two clubs met in the Western Conference Semi-Finals on October 17, 2020. The match finished full-time at a 1-1 draw, after a scoreless extra time the match went on to penalties in which El Paso Locomotive defeated New Mexico United 5-3.
