Elections in Sindh
Elections in Sindh, a province of Pakistan, are conducted in accordance with the Constitution of Pakistan. The Assembly of Sindh creates laws regarding the conduct of local body elections unilaterally, while any changes by the Provincial Assembly to the conduct of Provincial elections need to be approved by the Parliament of Pakistan. The Election Commission of Pakistan is responsible for conducting Elections in Sindh.
Sindh is represented by 75 MNAs in the National Assembly, which include 61 General Seats and 14 Women Seats. In the Senate of Pakistan, Sindh is represented by 23 Senators, which include 14 General Seats, 4 Technocrat/Ulema Seats, 4 Women Seats, and 1 Seat for Non-Muslims.[1]
Provincial Assembly of Sindh is the unicameral legislature of Sindh. The Sindh Assembly consists of 168 Members, which include 130 General Seats, 29 Women Seats, and 9 Non-Muslim Seats.[2]
