From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Elemind is an American neurotechnology company founded in 2019 and based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. It develops wearable EEG devices that use real-time acoustic stimulation to support sleep and other brain functions[1]

History

Founded in 2019 by MIT neuroscientists including Ed Boyden and David Wang, along with entrepreneur Meredith Perry and others. Emerged from stealth and launched its first consumer product in June 2024. Secured $12 million in venture funding in early 2024.[2][3][4]

The Elemind Sleep Headband integrates multiple EEG electrodes with a bone-conduction speaker to deliver precisely timed acoustic pulses aligned with brain rhythms, effectively accelerating the transition from wakefulness to sleep. The device is supported by a mobile app that uses AI to tailor stimulation patterns and provides detailed sleep analytics.

A randomized clinical trial showed 76 % of users fell asleep faster, with average sleep latency reduced by 48 % (up to 74 %).[5]

MIT News reported that in a pilot of adults with insomnia, using the device for 30 minutes reduced time-to-sleep by 10 to 15 minutes.[6] The New York Post echoed clinical claims of 76 % efficacy, with loudness delivered via bone-conducted pink noise, priced at around $349.[7]
