Elena's Models is an international online dating website that primarily connects Russian and Ukrainian women with men in other countries. The site lists profiles from 200 countries. The company was founded in 1999[2] by Elena Petrova and listed over 3 million profiles [1] since its inception. "Elena's Models" is a registered trademark in the USA in class 45, "Personal and social services rendered by others to meet the needs of individuals"[3]. It is privately owned.

History[edit]

In the late 1990s [1] when the website first launched, it offered for sale addresses of women. In January 2005 the site was upgraded to a membership system, where both men and women were required to create a profile in order to contact other members. In May 2013 a paid correspondence website AnastasiaDate made an allegation against Elena's Models in a US Federal Court in New York claiming dilution of trademarks[4]. AnastasiaDate's case was dismissed.

In October 2013 U.S. District Judge Katherine B Forrest ordered to recover attorneys' fees from AnastasiaDate in favour of Elena's Models, stating that AnastasiaDate's conduct against a direct competitor smacked of a "competitive ploy," citing the ruling in Mennen Co. v. Gillette Co.[5]

In June 2014 Elena's Models website was upgraded to include instant chat and video chat features. In January 2016 the site was upgraded to site-wide fully encrypted HTTPS [6].

In February 2016[7] launched its first mobile app for iOS and Android through iTunes and Google Play.
