Elgin Charles
Elgin Charles is a television personality, author, and celebrity hair stylist in Beverly Hills.
He was born Elgin Charles Williams in San Antonio, Texas.[1] Early in his life, before pursuing hair, Elgin held a career in finance at Smith Barney.[2]
In 1987 he began working as a stylist in Los Angeles.[3] Notable clientele include Tatyana Ali, Keri Hilson, Meagan Good, Star Jones, Diane Carroll, Natalie Cole, Verdine White of Earth, Wind, and Fire, and singer Estelle.[4]
In 1996, he married 227 and Sister, Sister actress Jackee Harry.[5] They divorced in 2003 and have an adopted child together, Frank.[6]
Elgin’s first major television series was a VH1 docu-series, Beverly Hills Fabulous, that highlighted life inside his famous Beverly Hills salon.[7]
In 2018 he released a book of memoirs, By the Way,,[8] and came out as bisexual.[9]
