Elija "Eli" Crane (born 1980)[1] is an American businessman and retired United States Navy SEAL who is a Republican candidate for Arizona's 1st congressional district in the 2022 election.
Early life and education[edit]
Crane was born in Tucson, Arizona and raised in Yuma. He studied criminal justice at Arizona Western College before transferring to the University of Arizona. At the start of his senior year, the September 11 attacks prompted Crane to drop out of college and enlist in the United States Navy.[2] In 2005, he became a Navy SEAL, and remained in the Navy until 2012.[3]
Career[edit]
In 2012 Crane founded the company Bottle Breacher, which manufactures and sells military-themed bottle openers and other accessories.[4]
In 2014 Crane's company was featured on ABC television's show Shark Tank.[5]
In July of 2021, Crane announced his candidacy for Arizona's 1st congressional district in the 2022 election.[6][7]
