Eliana Fonseca (São Caetano do Sul, February 17, 1961) is a Brazilian actress, director and screenwriter for cinema, theater and TV. She has acted in dozens of films, both short and feature films, having received several awards for her interpretations. Nowadays she coordinates the free cinema course É Nóis na Fita, which teaches teenagers to produce a short film.

Career

Graduated in Cinema from the Communications and Arts School in the University of São Paulo and as an actress from the School of Dramatic Art in the same university, she has a postgraduate degree (specialization) in pedagogy in higher education. She has worked for more than 35 years in the areas of cinema, theater and TV. In cinema, she directed and wrote 5 short films, among them Frankenstein Punk and A Revolta dos Carnudos, awarded in several festivals in Brazil and abroad.[1][2], in addition to directing the feature films Ilha Rá-Tim-Bum: O Martelo de Vulcano, Eliana em O Segredo dos Golfinhos and Coisa de Mulher[3]. In 2016, she released her fourth film, 13 Andares, the first feature film produced by the audiovisual ECA/USP in partnership with EAD.[4]

As an actress, she has acted in dozens of films, both short and feature films, having received several awards for her interpretations[5]. In theater, she directed and acted in more than 20 productions, accumulating critical highlights and awards[6]. In TV, her work of directing, script and acting in humor children's and youth programs stands out, having also acted in two soap operas and dozens of dramatic series. Among the highlights, the programs Rá-Tim-Bum and Castelo Rá-Tim-Bum, on TV Cultura, the humorous Casseta & Planeta, the comedy series Os Normais, A Grande Família, Chapa Quente and the soap opera Desejo Proibido, all on Rede Globo. She also directed series of different contents such as Segredos Médicos, A pergunta que não quer calar, for Multishow, and the series Máximo & Confúcio, for TV Cultura[7]. In addition to audiovisual productions, Eliana also contributed to the direction of other projects such as the HSBC Christmas Choir[8].

For years she has been a teacher of script, direction and direction of actors in the Bachelor's degree in Audiovisual at University Center Senac[9], having also taught classes for the post-graduate course in scripts at Senac and interpretation for the camera at EAD/USP[10]. Since 2009, Eliana has been coordinating the É Nóis na Fita project, a free cinema course with several market professionals aimed at young people, mostly from lower social classe, from different regions of São Paulo. The project teaches in practice the production of a short film from script to execution[11]
