Elijah Naboth Staniforth (30 August 1790 - 30 November 1842) was a British Esquire and sickle smith from the village of Mosborough in Eckington, Derbyshire.[1][2][3][4]
He is most notable for building Mosborough Hill House.
Early Life
Elijah was baptised on 30 August 1790 at St Peter and St Paul's Church, Eckington. His father Thomas Staniforth was the Victualler of the Fitzwilliam Arms public house, his mother was Mary (nee Bayley).[5]
On 25 December 1816 he married his first cousin Ann Staniforth. Ann was the daughter of William Staniforth, Thomas' uncle. William was a notable grocer in Sheffield.
He died on 30 November 1842 at his home in Mosborough.
