Elisabeth Sharp McKetta [1] is a writer, teacher, and editor. She grew up in Austin, Texas, but now lives in Boise, Idaho with her husband and 2 kids. McKetta has published 8 books in total, ranging from guidebooks for writers, poetry, biography, to children's books.
Career
McKetta's first publication, The Fairy Tales Mammals Tell (2013), is a collection of poems that explores the art of Fairy Tales. McKetta's other works of poetry include; Poetry for Strangers Volume I and Volume II (2015, 2016), Fear of the Deep, and Fear of the Beast (2016, 2019 both books are a collaboration with Boise, Idaho artist Troy Passey).
McKetta's second publication, The Creative Year: 52 Workshops for Writers, is a guidebook for all writers, providing 52 in-depth workshops to help spark a fulfilling writing life.
The Biography, Energy: The Life of John J. McKetta, Jr., [2] tells the story of McKetta's late grandfather. John J. McKetta was a first-generation Ukrainian American, coal-miner, turned world renowned energy expert and professor.
McKetta's most recent publication, We live in Boise, is a children's book about Boise, Idaho.
In 2019, McKetta presented her talk, "Edit your life like a Poem" at TEDx Boise, telling her story of living minimally in a 275 square foot tiny house with her husband and 2 kids.
