Elk was a village/hamlet in Chase County, Kansas.[1][2] It was located on Middle Creek, 19 miles (31 km) north-east of Cottonwood Falls.[2] Its mail and shipping point in the early 20th century was Antelope, in neighbouring Marion County, 9 miles (14 km) to its west.[2]
In the 1910 Census, it had a population of 10.[2]
The hamlet had a post office from 1874-08-24 until 1924-12-15, when it was replaced by rural free delivery.[3][4] It also had a general store,[2] and a blacksmith's.[5]
