ELLE was founded in 1977 with the mission of introducing Turkish women to global fashion trends. Starting its production in a workshop in Gedikpaşa, Istanbul, the brand made a breakthrough in shoe retail with its first ELLE store on Rumeli Avenue. The vision of its founders, Fehim Akar and Hasan Acar, quickly made ELLE a focal point for art circles and fashion enthusiasts.
ELLE collections redefined the clothing habits of working women in Turkey, who were actively engaged in the professional world and embracing modernization. ELLE introduced women to ballet flats, loafers, and boots. Over time, the ELLE collections expanded to include platforms, knee-high boots, and studded models. ELLE became known as "the sound of fashion" in Turkey.
The journey of ELLE, which began in 1977 in Gedikpaşa, continues to expand with its growing design and production team and the latest technologies at the 6000 m2 ELLE Factory in Hadımköy.
