According to Torreele, the crisis of access to medicines is no longer one of only poor people in developing countries, but truly a global one.[4]
Torreele has written critical articles about pharmaceutical company's perceived deficient patent-driven model for pharmaceutical innovation[5][6] and poor governmental decisions resulting in highly-priced medicines.
In 2021, she spoke about the correlations between inequity and access COVID-19 vaccines across the world.[7]
Publications[edit]
She is the author or co-author of several journal articles and academic working papers, and also been active in a blogging, mainstream media[8] and in Twitter on the topic of access to medicines.[9]
