Emanuel Pietrobon
Emanuel Pietrobon; born 26 October 1992 in Turin is an Italian journalist, political scientist and writer.
Biography
Emanuel Michele Pietrobon was born in Turin, in 1992. According to what is publicly known about his private life, he comes from a very poor family of mixed origins.
Pietrobon attended a night school and then enrolled at the University of Turin, where he graduated in international relations with a thesis focused on hybrid warfare. He subsequently continued his studies at the same university, where he graduated in area studies for development cooperation. An outstanding student, he won three scholarships throughout his university career and graduated with honors. While still a student, he started working as a geopolitical analyst for one of Italy's most important international relations magazines, InsideOver - Il Giornale, gaining international recognition for his works by being quoted and interviewed by foreign media and think tanks, including the Washington-based Middle East Institute.
Career
Pietrobon is currently working as a geopolitical analyst and as a political journalist for a number of Italian newspapers and think tanks, notably InsideOver, Opinio Juris - Law and Politics Review, Dissipatio and Osservatorio Globalizzazione.
He self-published his first book, L'arte della guerra segreta, in 2020. Later that year, he edited and translated from English to Italian a collection of speeches of Malcolm X, published by GOG Edizioni under the title Nessuno può darti la libertà. The next year he wrote Discorsi al popolo for the same publishing house, a book about Hugo Chavez, contemporary Venezuela and Chavism.
In 2021 he was selected to take part in the traineeship scheme of the European Commission, where he worked at DG ECFIN and at DG JUST. In the same period he worked on the first-ever Italian-language book about Fidesz, titled La visione di Orban, which he co-wrote with the Italian journalist Andrea Muratore.
In 2022, after finishing the traineeship at the European Commission, he briefly worked at Wikistrat and subsequently started working for Italy's largest private think tank, The European House - Ambrosetti. In the first six months of the year, he published the aforementioned book about Fidesz and three other books: Zelenskij. La storia dell'uomo che ha cambiato (per sempre) il modo di fare la guerra – the first Italian-language book on Volodymyr Zelensky –, Nella testa dello Zar, L'Orso e il Dragone.
