The Embassy of the Peoples Republic of China in Wellington, New Zealand along with consulate general offices in Auckland and Christchurch and several ancillary economic, trade and political offices provides assistance to Chinese citizens and issues travel visas to foreign nationals who wish to visit the Peoples Republic of China. In addition to this, the embassy is used to maintain industrial and political relations between the two countries.
The current Chinese ambassador is Wu Xi, who was appointed to her position on the 11th of April 2018.

The embassy is located in the inner-city suburb of Thorndon in Wellington, 15 minutes away from the New Zealand parliament. The tower block building is fronted on 2-6 Glenmore Street, with an additional vehicular entrance on Patanga Crescent.
