Emil F. Teichert

Emil F. Teichert (December 17, 1897 – January 9, 1972[1]) was an American laborer and political activist. He was the Socialist Labor Party of America's nominee for Vice President of the United States in 1936, serving as the running mate of presidential nominee John W. Aiken, who together received 12,788 total votes in the eighteen states in which they were on the ballot.[2]
Teichert worked in the Pennsylvania Railroad's Pittsburgh statistical department office.[3] After moving to New York, he was the Socialist Labor Party's nominee for lieutenant governor in 1932 and 1934, New York City Aldermanic President in 1933, and Mayor of New York City in 1937.[1]
His younger brother Edward A. Teichert went on to be the Socialist Labor Party's presidential nominee in 1944 and 1948.
