From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Emitis Pohl (born on December 24th, 1973 in Tehran, Iran, née Leylaz Mehrabadi) is a German entrepreneur, the owner of the advertising agency ep communication GmbH[1], based in Cologne and an author.

Life[edit]

Emitis Pohl was born in 1973 in Iran, Tehran. By the time of the Gulf War, she decided to escape the war and to move all alone to Germany by the age of thirteen in 1987 to pursue a better life. She lived in her own apartment in her grandmother's house in Hamburg and took care of her own education, contracts and duties. Pohl left her chosen hometown of Hamburg because of her studies and her career[2]. She currently lives in Cologne, is married, has two daughters and is the owner of the advertising agency ep communication GmbH. In October 2016 her autobiography "Being German for Beginners - Integration is my Duty."[3] was published.

Career[edit]

Emitis Pohl attended the secondary school (high school) in Tehran until the age of thirteen. In the years from 1987 to 1989 she attended a language school and Sternschanze Realschule in Hamburg. Afterwards she was a pupil at the Emilie Wüstenfeld Gymnasium in Hamburg and attained the general university entrance qualification at the Ricarda Hochschule in Gießen. Thereafter, Emitis Pohl began studying in the field of civil engineering through to the intermediate diploma. However, she quickly realized that her passion for the advertising industry applies much more than engineering. In 1997, Pohl began a dual study / apprenticeship as an advertising communications specialist in a Cologne advertising agency. During this time she also completed various internships in the field of film, TV and other advertising agencies. 2000, Pohl successfully completed the dual degree program with a degree in advertising communications. From 1999 to 2007 she worked as an event and PR manager for a well-known Cologne advertising agency. In 2007, Emitis Pohl finally set up her own agency (ep communication). Since 2012 she is not only the agency owner, but also the managing partner of ep communication GmbH. As an advertising and communication specialist, Pohl and her team develop international advertising campaigns and manage the shooting of TV spots, image films and much more. The conception, organization and implementation of events is also part of the Cologne agency.

Public[edit]

After the riots in the New Year's Eve 2015/2016 at the Cologne Central Station[4], which has also witnessed Pohl, she was invited to the German polit TV Shows "Stern TV"[5] and "Hart aber Fair"[6]. She expressed her opinion that politics lacked a concept for dealing with the refugee crisis and immigration policy. Following the TV appearances Pohl was referred to in online forums, but also personally as an AFD member or Nazi[7]. Of these allegations, however, the native Iranian dissociates vehemently.

In 2018, Pohl receives the SME Award of the MIT 2018[8]. The MIT[9] is the strongest and most influential party political business association in Germany. Every year, MIT awards the SME Award in the categories of politics, society and business to show recognition for its outstanding commitment and the principles of the social.
