Emma Caymares
Emma Sofia Pfaeffle (born November 5, 1990), known by her stage name Emma Caymares, is a Cuban/Nicaraguan American actress.[1] She is best known for her role as Celia on the ABC series Call Your Mother.
Biography
Caymares began studying dance, singing, and acting when she was five years old.[2] Caymares attended the State University of New York at Purchase, where she studied dance and graduated in 2012.[3] Shortly after graduation, Caymares joined the international tour of West Side Story and went on to dance with contemporary ballet companies Morphoses and Ballet Hispanico.[4]
In June 2014, Caymares was announced as a member of the American Repertory Theater's production of Finding Neverland.[5] Previews began on July 23 and opening night took place on August 13.[6] In March 2015, the ART production moved to Broadway at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre[7]. After 33 previews and 565 performances, the Broadway production of Finding Neverland ended on August 21, 2016.[8]
In 2017, Caymares joined the original cast of the Broadway production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as Veruca Salt.[9] Previews for the show began on March 28, 2017, with the opening night premiere taking place on April 23, 2017.[10] After 27 previews and 305 regular performances, the show closed on January 14, 2018.[11]
After a feature in the ABC Discovers: New York Talent Showcase in 2017[12][3], Caymares began performing in several series including Fosse/Verdon and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit[13]. In March 2020, Caymares was cast as a series regular in ABC's Call Your Mother.[14]
